Computation

Pronunciation: /ˌkɒm.pjʊˈteɪ.ʃən/ Explain

Computation is using an algorithm to calculate, usually with numbers. For example, to compute 3+4, one uses the addition algorithm to calculate the answer 7. Computers are called computers because they 'compute', or calculate, numbers quickly and accurately.
